Archetypes and Intuitive Energetics

Since the original writings by psychoanalyst Carl Jung, archetypes have been used as a method of categorising patterns of behaviour. Another popular writer on this topic was Carolyne Myss, who has expanded both the awareness of and also the number of types she has identified within her teachings! 

Archetypal energies represent both positive and negative qualities that emerge from the human experience. They share useful insight and assist with personal and spiritual growth. With this deeper awareness, we begin to see how they are playing out in our minds and in our lives.  

Once we start to become aware of our own tendencies, we can more actively create change in different areas of our lives. As we identify with shadow patterns we can shed light on various behaviours and reharmonise them to support us in creating our best possible life. 

Many of the gods & goddesses, and characters in myth and folklore through the ages, like the knight in shining armour and the wicked witch, are based on an archetypal system of classification. Whether we are female or male, young or older, these qualities exist within us all whether being expressed at any time or as potential in our lives. 

Aligning with the energies of balanced archetypal patterns within us is key to our healing and growth.

Whichever archetypes are at play at any time in our lives reflects our emotional state and the stage we are experiencing in our growth and evolution. They are very much interconnected with our energy centers and the more we are willing to take responsibility for our way of being in the world, the more empowered we become.
