The Optimising Nutrition Education Series is designed for those who would like to understand more about the ins and outs of nutrition, backed by real science. Don't be confused anymore by all of the mixed messages we are constantly bombarded with on the internet... Knowledge is empowering and once you understand the basics, you can easily apply this to make up your own mind about what might be helpful to you and what might actually become harmful, especially over the long term! 


The aim is to empower you and help you to decide for yourself about what's healthy and not get swept up in clever marketing and constant internet gossip..... make healthy choices easy!   For those of you who are self-motivated and on their wellness path or are diving head first into making lasting changes, this is for you.


The series consists of 7 topics with recorded lectures and plenty of other support resources for each topic, as well as a discussion forum where you can ask any questions about that topi.  There will also be some tasks you can complete based on what you are learning, to help you put real changes into practice along the way. (These are optional so if time for you is a problem, you don't have to worry!) Step by step you will be able to create easy and sustainable changes to your health and wellness long term.


With an easy to use online format, you access the materials at any time of your convenience for the duration of 12 months from when you first sign-up. This is to help keep you motivated but also have ample time to make your way through the resources at your own pace.


Topics include -

  1.  What causes chronic disease, understanding basic dietary guidelines, portion and serving sizes, whole versus processed foods, tips to creating lasting changes

  2. Carbohydrates and Fibre – Not all sugars are created equal, probiotics and gut health

  3. Fats and Oils – The good, the bad and the ugly, myths and realities of heart disease

  4. Importance of activity and relaxation for the mind and body

  5. Protein – Quality and the essentials, debunking popular diet fads

  6. Micronutrients – vitamins and minerals; Should we bother with supplements?

  7. Anti-nutrients - salt, sugar, caffeine, alcohol and chemical additives
